"Art Grows in Corralitos"
Not to be missed!  Mark your calendar!
Come join your neighbors and friends  on May 30th at the Corralitos Art
Gallery for a Reception, from 9 am to 5 pm, for the Corralitos Artists'
Collective's first juried exhibit "Art Grows in Corralitos. The Gallery
will  be featuring a wine pour by Alfaro Winery, yummy edibles and a raffle
for 3 sets of 2 tickets to the Musee d'Orsays' "The Birth of Impressionism"
that is opening to tremendous buzz on May 22.
Inspired by the Impressionism show the Gallery will also feature one of a kind
impressionist themed floor cloths painted by our member artists.  Proceeds
will go to  support our Gallery  and events. As an added bonus for signing up
for some Gallery docent time during this month long exhibit you will receive 1
raffle ticket for the pair of de Young passes.
The exhibit winners were selected by four experienced judges;
Barbara Bailey-Porter, Kittie Allen Yates, W. Downey Dyer and Jeff Rosendale.
These artists/judges will also be represented by a piece of their work at the
front of the Gallery.
Three cash prizes are being awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners and two
artists were given Honorable Mention.
First Place: Aaron Johnson - Pajaro Valley Apple, oil on canvas.
Second Place: Tom Bullock - Spring Gathering, photography
Third Place: Ruth Carroll - Corralitos Heirlooms - oil on linen
Honorable Mention: Bonni Carver - I'm So Glad to be Alive, watercolor
Honorable Mention: Ann Cavanaugh - Emergence, ceramic/raku
Thank you to all the artists who are participating in this show. The wide
array of quality entries is truly impressive and a lovely viewing experience.
May 30th is a very big day in Corralitos with much to do and see.
Come out and begin you day with a pancake breakfast served by our own Padres
in a fun country setting.  Enjoy treasure hunting at a yard sale, or perhaps
find a few special books at the Corralitos Library Book Sale.  See the Gallery
Exhibit and then wander over to the Grange for day long entertainment by a
number of our local bands.  Watsonville's Cafe Ella will be offering a catered
lunch and micro brew will also be part of the fare. All events are within easy
walking distance.  Along with the exhibit, Grange events are being produced
by the Corralitos Artists' Collective.
Come out for a fun day while supporting art in our community. Be part of it
all! Bring family and friends and celebrate the fact that thanks to YOU and all
of our "collective" efforts ART does indeed "Grow in Corralitos"
