The Fabrica: Community Textile Arts & Salvage Workshop

Hello Everyone!

I'm writing to let you know about a new project that I'm working on with there other rad women. We're starting a cooperative workshop for textile arts here in Santa Cruz. We've been talking about this for years and finally seemed to have enough people who are motivated. "The Fabrica" will be a space to work on projects or learn to sew, knit, etc. We will house all sorts of tools and materials for creating projects, including sewing machines, salvaged materials, and reference books. We'll offer focused classes and open shop time to work on projects or sit around stitching with others. And we're especially excited to help people fix, re-purpose and reuse! Currently we have a few sewing machines on loan and a small supply of other tools and materials. To get started, we'll be open Thursdays 2-5pm and Saturdays 4-7pm. Donations of any textile arts tools and materials or financial contributions will be greatly appreciated. If you have any questions, email me or stop in to hang out. I'll let you know when we have a website, a fundraiser, stuff like that.
Thanks for the support!
Elaina (with Ann, Becca and Stef)
